SANTO DOMINGO. - The Dominican Central banker said this Tuesday the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Central America (Dr-Cafta) provides favorable surroundings of legal security for commerce and investments.
Hector Valdez Albizu spoke about the positive results to be derived from the Free Trade pact in the keynote speech in a gathering organized by the American Chamber of Commerce.
He said the Dominican financial sector has the legal structures oriented to trade opening.
Valdez also said the legislation to modify the Financial Law aims to further bolster that framework.
For his part, the international consultant Ramiro Ortega said Dominican Republic is one of the region's countries that can boast a great opening. He cited the industry of communications as one with greatest development, followed by construction, commerce, agriculture and free zones.
The seminar titled "Financial Services under Dr-Cafta" is part of a series of encounters supported by the United States Agency for International Development. |
