SANTO DOMINGO. ? The Internal Taxes Agency said today the registration and renewal of license plates for motorcycles, scooters and like vehicles, which had been delayed for months, begins on Monday.

The measure is expected to provide hundreds of millions in Government revenue.

Director DGII Juan Hernandez said the process will last 3 months as of that date, in the National District and Santo Domingo Province, in registration centers located in La Feria Gandera, the Park of the East, the club of Billeteros in Villa Mella, and the Olympic Center.

The cost to renew is RD$250 and those who have to make a name transfer will pay 350 pesos.

He said the country has over two million motorcycles, and even if they don't all register, the DGII stands to collect close to RD$500 million in revenues.
